Goldwaite, Texas- Ronald Patrick “Ron” Laughlin, 82, a longtime Lewisville ISD educator and coach and a member of the original staff at Edward S. Marcus High School, died Sunday, December 21, 2025.
Ron joined Lewisville ISD in 1980, serving at Milliken Middle School before helping establish Marcus High School's athletic programs. He taught American History and coached football and baseball. The Marcus baseball team won the district championship in 1988 and tied Keller for district honors in 1989. He was named the 5-5A coach of the year in 1988.
Ron retired from Lamar Middle School in 1999. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Janis Moreland Laughlin, and his family.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Goldthwaite Methodist Church, with burial at Goldthwaite Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, January 2, from 5to 7 p.m. at Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home.
